ABOUT PAXTON RESOURCES
Paxton Resources is a Michigan owned independent Oil and Gas operating company based out of Gaylord. For over 17 years, Paxton has been on the cutting edge of technology and innovation in unconventional shale development. Building on its experience in the Antrim shale, Paxton has been successful over the recent years in Southern Michigan, using the most advanced exploration methods to complete a number of oil wells.
Paxton’s employees live, work and play in Michigan. In doing so, they understand and appreciate their responsibilities as stewards of the land. Having developed most of their projects in Northern Michigan, Paxton is uniquely experienced and has worked closely with the state including DEQ/DNR to ensure the preservation and protection of wildlife habitat, wetlands, and hunting grounds.

Team
Scott D. Lampert
Owner
Mr. Lampert is founder and owner of Paxton Resources, LLC and of Devonian Energy, Inc . He graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 1983 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and has been actively involved in the industry since 1980. His company currently explores for oil and gas in several states and operates wells in Michigan and Indiana.
He served on the Board of the Michigan Oil and Gas Association for many years and was Chairman from 2014-2015 and continues to serve as past-Chairman. He was named Businessman of the Year in 2004 by the Gaylord Chamber of Commerce and serves as Vice-Chairman of the Otsego Memorial Hospital Foundation board and of the University Center board as well as being on the board of the Gaylord Sportsplex. In 2010 Scott and his wife Janice received the President’s Award from the Gaylord Chamber of Commerce.
Mark Bailey Sr.
Operations Manager
Mr. Bailey oversees the design and implementation of each of our wellsites and facilities. He works closely with each of our contract companies, landowners, surveyors, State and local officials in order to ensure that our operations are conducted on time and in compliance with DEQ regulations.
Gregory J. Vadnais Jr.
Land Department
Gregory J. Vadnais serves on the Board of the Michigan Association of Professional Landmen, and is a Registered Professional Landman with the American Association of Professional Landmen. Aside from negotiating and obtaining Oil and Gas leases for Paxton Resources, Mr. Vadnais is also directly involved in permitting, mapping, negotiating right-of-way easements, surface-use agreements, and addressing any other issues that may arise in the field. He is available to meet personally with anyone who has questions or concerns relating to Paxton’s operations.
Becky Farmer
Land Department
Becky addresses the myriad issues relating to land leases and title curative. Her responsibilities as division order analyst and in-house landman are essential in helping maintain a cohesive picture of our rights and responsibilities with regard to our contracts and agreements with various partners and landowners.
Kevin Reynolds
Accounting
Kevin is the chief accountant at Paxton Resources. His job may be the most important of all, balancing the books. He is also responsible for setting up direct-to-deposit accounts for our royalty owners.
